Definitely stop by for a brief visit to learn about local stockyard history! They have nice displays, and families with preschool and elementary age children will enjoy the hands- on play and learning in the lower level.

Kathryn F.

Really enjoyed it. Coming from a farming background it was very relevant.

My three nephews ages 14, 12 and 10 went to the Ag Experience Barn with me on a Saturday morning when they could have been doing many other things. They loved it, especially the downstairs interactive and engaging exhibits such as the grocery store scanner whch tells them about the product.

Leelan L.

Was an informational experience. Made me think a bit about the area of the stockyards and how it has changed.

“This was an interesting experience to check out. It is a free museum but you can make a donation on site or online. The upstairs portion is much more information based while the downstairs is more hands on. Kids we saw there seemed to enjoy the downstairs as they can scan products to learn more about how they are made as well as where they come from.”

Fascinating place! Learned about the history of the Sioux Falls Stockyards (opened in 1917) over its 95 years. Then another floor had great exhibits telling about agriculture today. Well worth the time!

“We went in just to see what it was and we spent over an hour there! Well laid out building full of pictures and history but the real draw for my family was the lower level where they have the farm to table exhibit. It’s like a mini children’s museum! Hands on, clean and so fun!”

Interesting look at the primary economic driver for this area for nearly a century.

Jeffrey S.

Better location for younger kids especially in the basement. Adults would enjoy the upstairs with the reading. Very clean facility.

Jill M.

Great educational find telling the story of the Sioux falls great stockyards.

I stumbled upon the place. What a surprise! It’s beautifully restored inside and out. Two levels. From videos of people telling first hand how things were, to wonderful kid oriented ag displays that I enjoyed like a kid. It’s vivid local color available on a visit to Falls Park. The closest parking is off Sioux Falls Park Dr. on the north side

This place truly is a gem! I highly recommend visiting to learn about Sioux Falls history and the region’s agriculture industry.

Angela L.

There’s a wheelchair accessible entrance, and it’s super informative! Definitely geared more towards children, but there are plenty of things for adults to learn as well!

Kat F.

Almost missed it! A little out of the way but so glad we went! Perfect for all ages to learn.

Amelia S.

This space exceeded my expectations. It provides a great visual and interactive history of the Stockyards in Sioux Falls and the lower level of the building provides a vibrant, hands-on way to learn about the modern agriculture industry, not just of SD, but of surrounding states too. A nice space for students and adults to celebrate Sioux Falls history and learn the field to table process.

Lot’s about food and livestock, very impressed
