First Things First
Tate and Calli Williams, along with our sons Jack (5) and Tommy (2) own TW Angus, a purebred Angus seedstock operation located near Letcher, SD. We call ourselves Millennial Ranchers, as we are first generation ranchers.
On our operation, we sell Angus bulls each spring. In previous years we sold our bulls via private treaty but in 2022 we held our first online bull sale. Our bull sale is the first weekend in March, and is held as a timed event on DV Auction. We hope to continue the online bull sale each spring with the future goal of someday hosting a live bull sale on our ranch.
Millennial Ranchers
As Millennial Ranchers, one of the biggest challenges has been marketing our livestock as we are a new name to the breed. We consign cattle to the Black Hills Stock Show as a way to meet new customers, and we utilize social media to share more about our operation.
In addition to our spring bull sale, we feed steers that are born and raised on our ranch, and sell the beef direct to consumers. We started this business by offering beef shares for our customers, but we quickly saw a demand for smaller packages, as consumers didn’t have the freezer space for a quarter of beef. That is when we began offering beef in bundles and steaks as a` la carte items. We currently deliver beef to Mitchell, Brookings and Sioux Falls as needed – but we hope to start beef deliveries on a monthly basis.
Tate works full time for his family’s business, Williams Masonry. Calli works full time for the Wyoming Livestock Roundup as a Livestock Field Representative.
We are thankful to be a part of the beef industry, and to raise our boys the best way we know how – outside, and with cattle!
