On July 10th, the Stockyards held our Summer Carnival – with a crowd that more than doubled that of last year! Filled with sugary treats and activities for all, our little barn was bursting with carnival attendees, where everyone braved the heat and showed up to participate in the fun! 

The Stockyards welcomed booths from the SDSU Departments of Agriculture and Dairy Sciences, SD Corn, BINfluencer, South Dakota Soybean Association, and Minnehaha County 4-H, all helping attendees understand the power of agriculture in our daily lives through engaging activities. 

Color Bee Painting and Mr. Twister brought more smiles and laughter to the carnival with their face painting and balloon art. 

Visitors enjoyed games, butter and ice cream making, mini donuts, and more! Everyone involved had a blast, including our staff.

We handed out prizes, melted in the heat, and ate mini donuts until our bellies ached. This year’s Summer Carnival was a smashing success. Thank you to all of those that participated and attended, we couldn’t have put this on without you!
